Brett and Amber, United States Pearls of the South and West, June 2016 Everything was planned out carefully and we encountered very little problem because of this. The hotels were great and the voucher system made everything simple and hassle-free. Our service consultant did a great job keeping in touch, getting us what we needed and answering questions leading up to the trip.
The overall process was very simple from beginning to end. Traveling somewhere new can be a stressful experience and Nordic Visitor made it simple and worry-free. Michael, United States South and West in Detail, June 2016 I've already recommended Nordic Visitor and Iceland to friends and co-workers who may be interested in visiting Iceland.
Including the paper map with highlighted routes and suggestions is very useful. All of the printed material provided was well thought out and very useful.
The meals that were included were great. I don't recall having any bad experiences or issues with any of the services. Anita, Singapore Nordic Odyssey, June 2016 We were very pleased with the service provided by our travel consultant, Sofia. Marie, United States The Natural Wonders of Iceland, June 2016 My husband and I had the best honeymoon. The tour guide was knowledgable and structured things so well that we were able to view a few extra sights with our spare time.
The hotels were all cute and the food was plenty and diverse (but not too outside the norm for people not so adventurous). The stories that our tour guide told us about trolls and elves and the history of Iceland definitely added something to the tour that we would not have had otherwise.
It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to come back. Amy and Thomas, United States Swedish Heritage Tour, June 2016 Nordic Visitor was a perfect fit for how we like to travel. Because we traveled with our 12 and 15 year old children, and all of us love the outdoors, having some flexibility to fit in nature walks, boat rides and time exploring castles and ancient burial grounds and cemeteries was ideal.
We loved having the hotels planned for us and that they included breakfast. Driving in Sweden was easy and we appreciated having the information about traffic rules and signs to look at before the trip.
Overall it was a wonderful family trip that we'll remember forever.
Aharon, Israel The Classic Fjords Route, June 2016 My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 11 day self-drive trip to Norway. We were very satisfied with the arrangements made by Nordic Visitor and we were happy that an experienced tour company planned our trip instead of us trying to plan it by ourselves. We really enjoyed Trondheim and we are happy that we decided to pick the self-drive tour that finished in Trondheim.
All the travel accommodations went like clockwork. Hotels were mostly quite easy to find and were comfortable, albeit somewhat marginally comfortable in a couple of cases. Again, I would like to compliment Sindre Matthiason. Kudos out to him. He was so very helpful and had everything well organized for us, which really helped to alleviate any anxiety we might have had initially. We really loved Norway - Oslo, Bergen and all other stops. We also enjoyed Stockholm but found it to be just another big city - kind of like going to San Francisco, London or Berlin.
They all have much in common. Gary and Sandy, United States Iceland Full Circle, June 2016 I have put comments in TripAdvisor but again, Helga was terrific. Deirdre and Charlene, United States Express Iceland, June 2016 Had a great time at all hotels. Gerald and Carol, United States Express Iceland, May 2016 We loved your beautiful country and the wonderful scenery in every part. John and Linda, United States Iceland Full Circle - Winter, May 2016 We have traveled together for 42 years.
Our Icelandic experience will be fondly remembered, it was very special. You can follow all the news and reactions on our live blog. Alcohol duty could be raised, but cigarettes and diesel duty are thought to be safe from an increase. Some Tory backbenchers are in open revolt over reforms that will see some shopkeepers and publicans clobbered with tax hikes of up to 400 per cent. The Government is also under intense pressure to give a cash injection to the crisis-hit NHS and care for the elderly.
Mr Hammond was given a boost this week as a surge in tax receipts sent government borrowing to its lowest January level in 17 years. Because of his fears of uncertainty, and a debt mountain edging towards 90 per cent of GDP, experts say the Chancellor is not likely to splurge. Drinkers will be hoping he does not raise tax on booze after George Osborne last year froze the duty on beer spirits and most ciders.
Mr Hammond froze fuel duty but did not mention booze or fags in his maiden mini-budget in November.

What is clear is that the more lurid predictions made by the Remain camp before the vote have not come to pass.
Here we look at some of those predictions and take stock of what Brexit has done to interest rates, inflation, pensions, foreign exchange rates and more. What has actually happened Mortgage rates, and other interest rates, have fallen in response to Brexit. Analysis The former prime minister and chancellor presumably expected sterling to fall far more than it did after the vote, forcing the Bank of England to raise rates to attract money back to Britain.
But although the pound has fallen, the decline has not been calamitous (see below). As a result, the Bank was able to cut rates earlier this month. Those who want to take out fixed-rate loans have also seen rates fall. The price of these deals is driven by interest rates in the broader financial markets, such as yields on gilts (government bonds), which have fallen to new record lows. What has actually happened The pound has fallen and inflation is expected to rise, although the effects take time to work through the economy.
Analysis The fall in sterling predicted before the vote has come to pass, and inflation can be expected to follow in time. What has actually happened Theresa May has committed to keeping the triple lock for the rest of this parliament. Economic developments could render the triple lock unaffordable for the next government. Baroness Altmann, who was pensions minister under Mr Cameron, has said the commitment to the 2.
What has actually happened After an initial sharp fall, the stock market has rallied strongly to levels higher than those before the vote. Analysis Most workers other than fortunate members of final salary pension schemes have their retirement savings tied up in the stock market.
Share prices therefore have a direct impact on the financial prospects of millions of Britons. The London stock market did fall dramatically in the days after the Brexit vote, but has recovered strongly since. However, younger pension savers would arguably be better off with lower share prices, which would allow their regular contributions to buy more shares or fund units.
Their older counterparts will be more concerned with the value of their accumulated pots, which will broadly be higher in the wake of the vote. First, some property funds were forced to suspend trading following a rush of investors who wanted to take out their money. Many of these funds remain suspended. Second, final salary pension schemes have suffered from the further decline in gilt yields and interest rates. Their deficits, which are largely determined by gilt yields, have increased markedly since the vote.
There has been speculation that embattled final salary schemes may have to be allowed to back down on some of their promises to ensure their viability, and to help keep their sponsoring companies afloat. Have a question for our experts. Should I ask her to pay. Interest rates The prediction That rates would rise. Inflation The prediction Inflation will rise. Sterling The prediction The pound would fall sharply if Britain voted to leave the EU.
What has actually happened The pound has weakened, although less than expected.Or to at least live with less of it. Check out this list of plastic-free and less plastic alternatives and see for yourself.

Plastic may leach chemicals into the water and aluminum bottles are lined with an epoxy resin, some of which has also found to leach into water depending on the brand.
Why take a chance. Read my posts about bottled water for more information. Some people like reusable canvas totes. Others prefer to put their purchases into a backpack or messenger bag. Do you often forget your reusable bags. ChicoBags are a great emergency alternative. While they are made from synthetic materials, they compress into their own attached stuff sack, which makes them very convenient and likely to be used.
I carry several of them in my purse so I am never without a bag. If you have a car, keep your grocery bags in it and remember to bring them into the store with you. And one more thing: reusable bags are not just for groceries. Carry them for all your purchases, from electronics to clothing. Some examples of convenient containers are:Stainless containers from Life Without Plastic, Eco Lunchbox, LunchBots, and others.
This process helps me to remember my reusable mug next time. I could have just as easily used my own stainless steel utensils. A single use plastic device meant to save a single use cardboard box. What about all the marine animals that swallow that type of disposable plastic.
That keeps my ice cream consumption down, which is better for my health, and it also does away with the plastic-lined containers as well. Ice cream cones require zero container or utensil waste. If I do want to bring some home, I can have my ice cream handpacked in my own container.
This eliminates the need for all disposable bottles glass as well as plastic. Especially in the summer. So I got a Soda Stream Penguin soda maker for those times I crave some fizz. The soda maker itself is plastic, but the carafes are glass, and the soda maker replaces hundreds of disposable bottles.

He moved into the spotlight again with a career-defining victory at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. US Opens are often defined by the mastery of scrambling, and Noren is just that. When his game is off, he has the ability to keep ticking over thanks to an insatiable ability to get up-and-down.
Similar to Harrington in his prime, Noren is a grinder prepared to do battle with any player in any conditions. A picture of consistency early in the season with a win and four top-10s on the West Coast Swing, Spieth has tailed off since a T-11 finish at The Masters.
Spieth can turn things around quickly, especially when he gets the U.
The early reports of immaculate Erin Hills greens should help him continue to find his putting stroke, while his ball striking has remained strong statistically all year. Interestingly, he posted a 69 in 2011 U. Amateur stroke-play qualifying at Erin Hills, then won three matches before losing in the quarterfinals. The rough at Erin Hills looks very similar to that at Carnoustie, where Garcia almost won the Open in 2007, losing in a play-off to Padraig Harrington.
The Spaniard is a fantastic ball-striker, and that can be a telling factor on the most difficult courses or when conditions become more challenging. Alabama-Mississippi State in Starkville represents a rare top 25 matchup in this series, and that may not bode well for coach Dan Mullen (more on that later). Alabama (9-0) boasts a 30-game regular-season winning streak.
But after watching its best defensive players drop like flies last week in a less-than-inspiring win against LSU, the Tide look vulnerable. So Bama can crowd the line of scrimmage, force third-and-long, get the ball back to its offense early and often and win by strangulation. How Mississippi State can win: Win at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Score in the low 20s, avoid giving up big, explosive plays downfield and perhaps the crowd in Starkville can witness a historic win. The Tide failed to cover the spread vs.
Florida State became a terrible team. Bama has yet to face Georgia, Auburn or Mississippi State. The week after a huge game against LSU, normally this would be a let-down spot for Alabama. But this 2017 Alabama team tends to play its best after mediocre outings. After a 41-23 win against Colorado State, the Tide annihilated Vanderbilt, 59-0, and Ole Miss, 66-3. Mississippi State is next in this ledger after a mediocre game in Week 10.Hilmar, our travel consultant was superb.
He promptly answered all emails and was extremely knowledgeable. The entire tour package was exactly what we had requested and the accommodations at Guesthouse Sunna met our expectations for location, size of rooms, service and good good.
On our Golden Circle Tour we had the most amazing tour guide, Arsthor. I have taken many tours over the years in different countries and he was by far the Best. I highly recommend this agency. We have just completed the Express Iceland Tour offered by Nordic Visitor, extended by two days. After the apprehension of whether Bardarbunga or the remains of hurricane Christobal would end up cancelling our flights into Iceland, the holiday went like a dream.
The organisation of every hotel, every excursion and the car hire experience were all perfect. We managed to go to the Blue Lagoon, Glacier boat ride, horseriding with Hestasport and Snorkelling in Silfra.
We even had an amazing Northern Lights show at Skagalfjordur. The only thing we did not manage was to fly over the fissure eruption at Holohraun because they started operation on our last day and by then everything was fully booked. Hotels were better than I had expected and I was very lucky with the weather. Excellent value, my friends in Australia recommended it and so will I.
We felt very prepared to travel around Iceland on our own. The communication prior to the trip was very thorough and our detailed itinerary was well organized and very detailedwe even stopped for the homemade ice cream.
All the vouchers were very clear and easy to use. We had an incredible vacation visiting an incredible country. We love Nordic Visitor. Thank you so much for a wonderful honeymoon. My husband and I had the adventure of our lives, and it kicked off the adventure we'll be having for the rest of our lives. Every part of our trip was perfect, and I can't wait to return. I would like to say it was a marvellous trip and Irja did a wonderful job and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed it.
